Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and managed services.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Linux, VMware, networking, and backup tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and related infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently in a 24x7 operational environment with strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and backup environments.
  • Respond to infrastructure alerts, troubleshoot production issues, and restore services.
  • Execute approved OS, VMware, and infrastructure patching during maintenance.
  • Monitor backup and replication jobs, investigate failures, and perform authorized restores.
  • Perform health checks following maintenance to verify production system availability.
  • Monitor Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, storage systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Escalate critical incidents to engineering teams and vendors per procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, operational logs, incident tickets, and shift turnover reports.

Required Technical: Infrastructure monitoring, Windows Server, Linux admin, VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter), Veeam or backup platforms, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization, storage, networking, firewalls, switches, VPNs, monitoring platforms, patch management, incident response.

Required Skills: Infrastructure troubleshooting, production incident response, analytical thinking, documentation, communication, organization, problem-solving, prioritization, decision-making.

Preferred Technical: Pure Storage FlashArray, TrueNAS, Microsoft Azure, MS 365, PowerShell, Bash scripting, enterprise monitoring, ITSM/ticketing systems, storage replication, firmware updates.

Preferred Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Windows Server Certification, Linux Administration Certification.
