Job summary

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking Tier I Teaching Assistants to support the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students at O’Rourke Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. Teaching Assistants collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.

Positions available include 3 Teaching Assistants – 6.5 hours/day.

Qualifications

• New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Experience with middle school-aged students preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
• Providing academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
• Supporting the implementation of student accommodations and modifications as directed.
• Assisting with supervision during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, study halls, and other school functions as assigned.
• Helping maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
• Performing clerical and organizational tasks related to classroom operations.
• Collaborating effectively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families when appropriate.

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking dedicated, student-centered Teaching Assistants to support the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students at the Middle School. Teaching Assistants work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.

Positions Available:

• 3 Teaching Assistants – 6.5 hours/day
