Job summary

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking Tier I Teaching Assistants to support the academic, social, and behavioral needs of students at O’Rourke Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. Teaching Assistants collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.

Positions available include 3 Teaching Assistants – 6.5 hours/day.

Qualifications

New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
Experience with middle school-aged students preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Assisting teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
Providing academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
Supporting the implementation of student accommodations and modifications as directed.
Assisting with supervision during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, study halls, and other school functions as assigned.
Helping maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
Performing clerical and organizational tasks related to classroom operations.
Collaborating effectively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families when appropriate.
