Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Tier 1 Security Analyst on-site in Anaheim, CA, to support a 24x7 SOC. The role involves monitoring, investigating, and reporting on cyber threats for County assets, with shift rotations including nights and weekends. The engagement runs for about six months with potential conversion to FTE.

Qualifications

• Proficient in modern cyber security concepts and threat detection.
• Experience with securing networks, systems, and applications.
• Ability to follow SOC procedures and document incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events 24x7 and investigate incidents.
• Report and escalate potential security threats to SOC leadership.
• Support vulnerability assessments at multiple levels.
• Assist in cyber metrics, threat intelligence, and automation tasks.
• Develop and implement security controls and risk mitigations.
• Engage with architectures, firewalls, and data flows.
• Evaluate new security tools and techniques in line with IT security strategy.
• Perform vulnerability scanning using approved tools and remediate findings.
• Provide briefings to senior staff as needed.
