Job summary

DENSO in Statesville, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead process capability and capacity planning, determine future equipment needs, and evaluate vendors, equipment makers, and services to meet specifications.

The role requires troubleshooting and modifying PLC ladder logic, collaborating with robotics and vision systems, ensuring IATF16949 and ISO9001 compliance, and managing cross‑functional projects and line startup.

Qualifications

  • Requires a college degree and/or specialized training in manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with aluminum die casting is a plus.
  • Training for problem solving (including 5WHY) and PFMEA; certificates of training or attendance within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Process Capability and Capacity Planning.
  • Determine Future Equipment requirements.
  • Assist with evaluating potential vendors, equipment makers, and services to meet required specifications.
  • Investigate in-house manufacturing problems and recommend countermeasures.
  • Research, develop, and test long term improvement ideas.
  • Generate reports to clearly explain issues and / or results.
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot, modify, and write PLC Ladder Logic.
  • Work with Robotics, Vision Systems, and Laser Programming.
  • Mechanical Aptitude required.
  • Insure documentation meets IATF16949 and ISO9001.
  • Maintain and generate process control plan specifications and process FMEA documentation.
  • Maintain good working relationships with team members.
  • Project Management - coordinate, schedule, and execute individual and multi-departmental projects plans, including full line implementation and start up.

  • Requires some travel.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job
  • Requires a college degree and/or specialized training and some previous experience in manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing.
  • Aluminum die casting, a plus
  • Must have training for problem solving (including 5WHY) and PFMEA. Note: Must have certificates of training or attend classes within one year of hire date.
