Job summary

Avocet Hospitality Group, on Folly Beach, seeks a House Person to support housekeeping by distributing linen, stripping rooms, and restocking supplies.

This role requires weekend/holiday availability, a high school diploma, 1-2 years in housekeeping, and a friendly, detail-oriented approach; compensation is $19 per hour plus annual bonuses, with benefits including PTO, holidays, and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Distribute linen to room attendants throughout the day.

• Maintain neat appearance and punctual clock-in/out.
• Assist with other housekeeping tasks as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for distributing linen to room attendants throughout the day. Stripping all vacant rooms and carts of dirty linen and trash. Restocking storage closets with supplies. Maintaining the cleanliness of staircases, ice machines, storage closets and corridors daily.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.


• Arrive at scheduled time with a positive attitude.


• Maintain a neat, groomed appearance, with a clean pressed uniform.


• Responsible for clocking in/out on time.


• Check out a radio for communication.


• Check in with the manager on duty regarding any special projects.


• Walk corridors and pull elevator trash.


• Stock housekeeping bins with linen.


• Distribute the linen to housekeeping carts neatly.


• Strip check-outs of dirty linen and trash out all vacant rooms by 1pm.


• Must inspect mattress pads, comforters, and pillows for stains.


• Replace any stained items.


• Remove microwaves and rollaways out vacant rooms


• Rearrange any furniture.


• Check the balcony for trash and chairs.


• Clean ice machines.


• Sweep and mop corridors.


• Maintain the cleanliness of storage closets.


• Restock storage closets with guest room supplies.


• Remove any rollaway or microwaves out closets.


• Communicate with assigned housekeepers throughout the day.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: 1-2 years of housekeeping experience

Skills

• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.

• Ability to perform assigned tasks with attention to detail, essential speed and accuracy.


• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.


• Ability to distribute linen and supplies to guests and housekeepers in a timely manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work in guest rooms, balconies, corridors, staircases, closets and maintaining the cleanliness in these areas.

• Able to remain stationary for prolonged periods.

Work generally performed on the corridors helping out housekeepers . Maintaining the cleanliness of ice machines ,closets, staircases and floors. Pulling and removing trash throughout the day so that corridors are presentable for our guests.
