Chicago Union is seeking a Ticket Sales and Sponsor Relationship Manager intern who will work closely with the General Manager and other team members to shape ticket sales and marketing across Chicago and Evanston.

This position is fully commission-based and could count toward school credit for internship. You will develop sales strategies, build sponsor relationships, track KPIs, and help grow fan attendance and sponsor engagement.

Qualifications

  • Major in sports marketing, sales, or business preferred.
  • Fully commission-based sales position.
  • Experience in sales.
  • Experience in managing customer relations and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Experience in tracking KPIs.
  • Basic proficiency with graphic design software.
  • Must be able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
  • Incredible attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective ticket sales, group sales, and fan engagement strategies.
  • Work with senior management to outline a ticket sales strategy; Recommend strategies for increasing ticket sales and fan attendance.
  • Develop various marketing strategies to increase ticket sales and drive attendance at Chicago Union games.
  • Establish relationships with local organizations and companies to promote group ticket sales.
  • Utilize an assortment of sales strategies to reach out and increase fan attendance through a number of media – phone calls, personal meetings, social media outreach, direct emails.
  • Maintain relationships with ticket buyers – ensuring they have a seamless first experience at Chicago Union games.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging social channels, features, applications, platforms, tools, and strategies; implement when beneficial to strategic objectives.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each various sales strategies, such as: audience growth, reach, engagement, response rate, and fan feedback to measure return on investment (ROI) and program effectiveness.
  • Build Sponsorship Opportunities And Manage Sponsor Relationships
  • Develop a list of potential Sponsors in local communities
  • Reach out to potential sponsors in Chicago, and pitch various sponsorship engagement opportunities
  • Work with senior management to optimize sponsorship package offerings, and custom-tailor sponsorships as needed for potential sponsors
  • Develop and Update sponsorship procurement decks on a per client basis (as needed)
  • Sponsor Assurance - ensure that sponsor obligations are being met (advertising, social media, tickets, etc.)
  • Maintain relationships with sponsors – keep consistent engagement with sponsors and ensure the relationship with the sponsors is healthy
  • Identify and evaluate emerging social channels, features, applications, platforms, tools, and strategies; implement when beneficial to strategic objectives

This job opportunity's compensation is fully commission-based – this position could also be used toward school credit if needed for an internship. The Ticket Sales and Sponsor Relationship Manager intern will work closely with the General Manager and other various members of the organization and be involved in the sales and marketing strategy of the Chicago Union. This individual will support the team by growing fan attendance and team sponsorship – developing the Union into a household name in the Chicago and Evanston communities. The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a consistent structure, can-do attitude, and top-notch creative execution. Moreover, this individual must take initiative independently and manage ambiguity while embodying the vision, mission, and core values of the Chicago Union ultimate frisbee team.
