The prestigious New York Athletic Club, founded in 1868 with facilities on Central Park South in Manhattan and Pelham Manor, NY, is seeking a part-time bartender for our Pelham Manor location. The candidate must be knowledgeable about classic cocktails, spirits, beer, wines, and have experience working at a high-volume bar that also offers dining service.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available.
2. Request additional supplies as necessary and stock the bar.
3. Follow set-up procedures.
4. Prepare garnishes, mixes, and pre-mixed drinks.
5. Greet members and guests.
6. Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to recipes approved by the Food and Beverage Director.
7. Ensure member accounts are properly billed through the Point-of-Sale System (POS) and report complaints immediately.
8. Maintain and clean the bar area and equipment.
9. Keep records of liquors, beers, wines, and ensure bar stock is maintained.
10. Clean and lock up the bar area following prescribed procedures.
11. Have reliable transportation.
12. Be available to work weekends and summer holidays.

Requirements

• High-energy, outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.
• Passion for exceeding member expectations and commitment to providing high-quality service.
• Flexible attitude regarding tasks and schedule adjustments.
• High School diploma or equivalent vocational training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb, and carry.
• Ability to stand and move efficiently for up to 8-10 hours.

Hourly rate plus gratuities.
