Job summary

AttoTude inc. is seeking a world-class System Hardware Engineer in the Bay Area to contribute to next generation THz MODEMs and intra-DCI applications.

You will own the testbed, perform metrology, calibration, and rapid feedback to design teams while evaluating performance at both component and system levels. The role requires a PhD in EE or Applied Physics, hands-on experience with high-speed RF and coherent modulation formats, and strong programming skills.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with specialization in high speed electronic or electro-optic systems.
  • Experience with coherent modulation formats (QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM).
  • Experience characterizing RF and mm-wave interconnects, S-parameters, jitter, ENOB, nonlinearities.
  • Proficiency in Python, Matlab, C/C++, C#, Visual Basic.
  • Fluent with software repositories (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) and IDEs (VS Code).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and realize THz MODEMs as part of the system team.
  • Maintain a testbed for modem characterization and optimization.
  • Perform measurements, calibration, and metrology to inform hardware design.
  • Analyze signal processing performance and diagnose issues.
  • Collaborate with design teams to translate measurements into improvements.
