A leading company in electronics is looking for a Warehouse Lead to manage inventory and oversee warehouse staff in Milpitas, CA. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least two years of material handling experience. This position includes physical demands such as lifting up to 30 pounds and requires proficiency in MS Office.
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Lead reports directly to the Warehouse/Logistics Manager and is responsible for overseeing, handling and processing the entire inventory in the warehouse and assigning tasks to other warehouse staff. This position will be called on to assist in the evaluation of other employees assigned to the warehouse and may perform a variety of tasks in accordance with their training, experience and skill. These tasks are performed in accordance with engineering instructions, company standard operating procedures, professional trainings, customer requirements and individual experience. Overtime may be required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Perform manual and clerical duties such as receiving, storing, and issuing materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
• Assign tasks to warehouse staff and evaluate staffing functions to support factory requirements.
• Receive materials, checks against documentation for completeness, identification and quantity.
• Sort, count, check received goods, raw materials, finished or semi-finished parts and sub-assemblies.
• Issue materials, supplies components and parts from stock.
• Prepare stock kits for production departments and verify, counts and document discrepancies.
• Prepare shortage documentation, review status, back order files and inventory status reports.
• Interface and support internal/external customers and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required/Job Specifications:
• Preparing activity reports and other data input as required.
• High school Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of material handling experience or equivalent.
• Possess and demonstrate leadership ability.
• Previous Forklift experience preferred. Specifically Stand-Up Reach Forklift.
• Possess a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficient with PC based software, including advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, Word and Excel.
• Effective organizational skills required; detail oriented; ability to multitask.
• Possess excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form.
• Ability to keep accurate documentation.
• Ability to present information effectively and resolve internal/external customer concerns.
• Maintain courteous, professional and effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to apply basic concepts of arithmetic.
• Handling ESD, MSL and Raw components.
• Ability to use common sense to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
