The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is recruiting an anticipated Math Instructor to join our team at Windham Technical High School in Willimantic, CT.
The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) Mathematics Department provides a standards-based curriculum designed to support diverse student goals while addressing learning gaps and promoting academic growth. To meet graduation requirements, students must successfully complete a minimum of three mathematics credits.
To accommodate varying academic and career aspirations, CTECS offers multiple mathematics pathways:
This pathway focuses on developing essential mathematical knowledge and skills applicable to both the workplace and everyday life. Students typically complete Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Additional elective options, such as Personal Finance with Algebra and Mathematical Applications, allow students to fulfill graduation requirements while strengthening practical mathematical competencies.
Designed for students planning to pursue post-secondary education, this pathway provides opportunities for more advanced study. In addition to the core mathematics sequence, students may enroll in courses such as Statistics, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus to prepare for college-level coursework.
The Honors Pathway offers the most rigorous mathematics program available within CTECS. Intended for highly motivated students seeking a competitive college-preparatory experience, this pathway includes Honors Algebra I, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra II, Honors Statistics, Honors Trigonometry, Honors Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
Through these differentiated pathways, the CTECS Mathematics Department ensures that all students receive the mathematical knowledge, skills, and support necessary to achieve their career, technical, and post-secondary goals.
For over 100 years, CTECS has been the leading force in Career Technical Education (CTE) in the State of Connecticut. CTECS operates 17 diploma-granting technical high schools, one technical education center and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs. The school system provides a direct employment pipeline for high school students and adult learners.

Incumbents must possess at time of appointment a valid certificate issued by the Connecticut State Board of Education in accordance with the Certification Regulations Concerning State Educator Certificates, Permits and Authorizations, with a secondary school endorsement.
