Job summary

A waste management service provider in Youngstown seeks a Residential Thrower to assist drivers in collecting refuse from households. Responsibilities

• Collect refuse from each stop pursuant to the specific contracts or levels of service within the serviced area.
• Safely manually manipulate garbage cans or garbage containers.
• Safely haul, lift, and load items and materials into the truck.
• Assist the driver in backing situations to help guide and ensure safety while backing.
• Maintain a courteous and cordial manner with all customers encountered on the route.

• Full-time employment plus potential overtime. Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.
• Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the employee’s regular schedule.

Thrower

Residential Thrower - Vogel Disposal Service, Inc. is seeking qualified throwers to work as a team with a driver to collect refuse from households daily.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must pass a physical exam and drug screen.
• Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, lift/carry required.
• The ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. is required.
• This job is performed in and out of the truck. Employees are subject to weather elements daily; i.e. heat, sun, rain, snow, wind, etc.
