Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) in Bucks County, PA, is seeking an entry-level level one operator to perform basic grinding operations and machine attending under supervision.

You will load/unload, inspect parts, maintain equipment, complete production reports, and uphold quality and safety standards, including 6S housekeeping. This position offers hands-on work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Job description

Under direct supervision, level one operators perform basic grinding operations including machine attending and basic inspection for Revert.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Obtain job assignments from lead, supervisor or manager.
• Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
• Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Load and unload material.
• Perform daily inspection of equipment such as grinders, forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
• Complete production reports accurately and timely.
• Perform transactions in Quality Management System as applicable.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
• Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:

• Basic ability to read and interpret process sheets.
• Basic use and interpretation of measuring equipment
• Basic understanding of shop mathematics
• Basic understanding of grinding functions
• Ability to communicate effectively to team members, lead, supervisor, manager and others.
• Ability to be certified to operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to wear a respirator

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or GED
• 0 to 1 year of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
• Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
• Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
• Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
