Position Overview

The ThriveKids Mental Health Professional (PLPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW) works as a social worker/counselor assigned to a school campus, responsible for student behavioral health within a community-based program. The role involves partnering with schools to improve healthcare and academic outcomes, participating in the school District Behavior Support team, conducting assessments and intervention plans, crisis intervention, maintaining student records, and providing counseling support as needed. The position offers a 10-month or 12-month schedule.

Essential Functions
  • Participate in the school District Behavior Support team.
  • Develop supportive classroom and school environments with school personnel.
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students with psychosocial risk factors.
  • Perform psycho-social assessments, including threats of violence, suicide, and behavioral evaluations.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling using various therapeutic techniques.
  • Offer crisis intervention services and report suspected abuse or neglect according to law and policy.
  • Refer families to community resources and collaborate with community partners.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential behavioral health records per policy.
  • Attend professional development workshops and stay current with licensure requirements.
  • Navigate school-based virtual care resources for student care.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in clinical social work or counseling, including hospital, school, or crisis intervention settings.
  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling.
  • Licensure: Required - PLPC or LMSW; Preferred - LPC or LCSW.
