Job summary

WellSpace Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for the THRIVE program in Sacramento, CA. The role emphasizes compassionate support, recovery-oriented guidance, and connecting individuals to community resources.

Applicants should have lived experience with mental health or related challenges, and preferably a Medi-Cal certification. The position is full-time, with a non-exempt status and benefits supporting professional development and client care excellence.

Qualifications

California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist certification or eligibility within 90 days of hire.
Lived experience with mental health, criminal justice, and/or substance use disorder recovery.
Strong understanding of recovery principles and evidence-based practices.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group peer support for individuals in recovery.
Assist individuals in identifying and accessing community resources; may transport clients in the employee's vehicle.
Advocate for clients' needs and promote self-determination.
Document services provided and track progress toward recovery goals.
Conduct intake screenings and complete paperwork efficiently, ensuring data accuracy.
