Thrift Store Donation Attendant

Role / General Purpose: As a Donation Attendant, you will be the first point of contact for donors, ensuring a smooth donation process. Responsibilities include receiving, assessing, sorting donations, and maintaining a safe environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet donors and assist with unloading donations.
  • Answer questions about Goodwill and donation guidelines.
  • Record donor information and donation volume.
  • Assess, sort, and price donations.
  • Provide tax receipts and thank donors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe donation area.
  • Follow safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks.
  • Operate a pallet jack (training provided, certification preferred).
  • Represent Goodwill professionally with excellent customer service.
  • Adapt to changing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule Requirements:

Flexible availability is required, as the store operates Monday to Sunday, 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Health & Safety:

This role involves handling pre-owned items, which may contain allergens or dust. Goodwill provides safety training and equipment. Employees must follow safety guidelines and report concerns.
