Job summary

This role involves sorting donated items, pricing and stocking merchandise, and providing friendly customer service at the checkout. You will handle donation processing, cashiering duties, merchandising, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

• Communicate effectively with fellow workers, staff and customers.
• Learn, interpret and implement policies relating to the store operation and merchandising.
• Ability to manage multiple work tasks.
• Knowledge of basic cashiering and sales practices.
• Ability to accurately count cash and change.

Responsibilities

• Processing: separates merchandise for the floor, ARC, or landfill; assess cleanliness/damage; repair as needed; price and ticket merchandise; move items to retail floor; maintain neat work area.
• Cashiering: handle vouchers, cash, checks and card transactions; ensure credit card security; provide friendly service; assist callers in locating merchandise in other SVdP stores; keep checkout area clean; assist with pricing, stocking and displays.
• General: observe safety procedures; perform other duties as assigned; other related tasks.
