Job description

Our associates at Red, White, and Blue Thrift perform a range of tasks and processes essential to our retail operations. These positions require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The roles are full-time, and medical benefits become available after 90 days of employment. Brief descriptions of our positions can be found below.

Our Facilities Associates may be assigned to the following tasks:
  1. Unloading and loading trailers
  2. Operating a trash compactor
  3. Operating a baling machine
  4. Janitorial duties

The Facilities Associate position is labor-intensive.

Our Production Associates may be assigned to the following tasks:
  1. Pre-sorting donations
  2. Sorting, pricing, hanging, tagging, attaching sensors
  3. Distributing merchandise to the floor
Our Sales Floor Associates may be assigned to the following roles:
  1. Cashier
  2. Sales Floor Attendant
  3. Donation Center Attendant
Other available positions include:
  1. Box Truck Driver
  2. Dispatcher
  3. Supervisor
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, back of house, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to Safely Perform Job Functions: Capable of safely and effectively performing essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity requirements.
  • Physical Strength: Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40-70 lbs, frequently exert up to 25 lbs, and handle objects with negligible force.
  • Endurance: Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient in performing repetitive motions and working with fingers.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Skilled in tasks involving grasping, turning, or working with hands.
  • Balance and Agility: Capable of maintaining balance on narrow or slippery surfaces and performing agile tasks.
  • Visual Acuity: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at 20 feet or more.
  • Work Environment: Dynamic, busy, noisy, and brightly lit; ability to thrive in such conditions is essential.
  • Interactions with Others: Regular interaction with customers, donors, and coworkers; effective communication skills required.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to switch tasks or departments as needed.

  • Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English required for communication and instruction comprehension.
