Job summary

McNamara Salvia is seeking aThreshold Inspector to work with a licensed Special Inspector to ensure construction complies with project specifications, plans, and details. You will inspect a range of structural components and navigate active construction sites while producing daily reports.

The role requires five years of field experience, ICC/AISC/ACI certifications, fluency in reading drawings, teamwork, strong writing, and clear communication with the project team; some night and weekend work

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ verifiable experience inspecting structural components of building structures
• Certifications from ICC, AISC and or ACI
• Candidates must be able to read construction drawings and shop drawings fluently
• Candidates must be team-oriented and work well with others
• Ability to communicate with project design and construction team
• Excellent report writing and record documentation

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection of all structural components of a building structure in accordance with the Threshold Inspection Plan
• Verify that shoring & reshoring has been inspected by Professional Engineer for compliance with shoring plan
• Create daily reports
• Attend pre-construction meetings
• Review shop drawings when necessary
• Conduct other field inspections or investigations when required
• Communicate and coordinate with project engineers, other inspectors & construction personnel
• Be able to climb ladders and safely navigate an active construction site
• Follow and support all site safety policies and procedures
• Some night and weekend work should be anticipated and is expected

Job description

As a Threshold Inspector, you would be working as a representative to a licensed Special Inspector to ensure that construction is progressing in compliance with the project specifications, plans, and details. Structural inspections will include CMU, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, post-tension cable, precast/prestress members, light-gauge metal studs, wood frame systems, structural steel members / connections, and exterior window/door systems. This position requires a physical ability to navigate typical construction terrain and climb ladders to access remote areas.

Duties :

This is a diverse role and the duties include:

• Provide inspection of all structural components of a building structure in accordance with the Threshold Inspection Plan
