Job summary

CJ Bio America is seeking a Refinery Operator for Threonine Broth and Evaporation. The role involves receiving, pH adjusting, heat inactivation, and evaporating broth in preparation for granulation and drying.

The position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts with weekends, holidays, and overtime. Experience in lab or production environments is preferred and a high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Measure and document broth transfers.
• Monitor and control broth pH, TS%, PCV%, density and temperature.
• Identify process malfunctions / deviations and communicate issues to management.
• Operate and monitor process equipment via HMI software.
• Collect samples and test pH, total solids, PCV, concentration and density.
• Accurately record samples and process data.
• Maintain cleanliness and normal operating conditions in production areas.
• Perform equipment/tank cleaning (CIPs) as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Receive, pH adjust and heat inactivate threonine broth. Evaporate inactivated broth in preparation for granulation and drying.

This position works 12-hour rotating shifts (36 / 48 hours per week alternating, rotating nights & days every 4 weeks), which includes days, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Essential Job Functions

• Measure and document broth transfers.


• Monitor and control broth pH, TS%, PCV%, density and temperature.


• Identify process malfunctions / deviations and communicate issues to management immediately


• Monitor and control assigned process equipment using HMI control software


• Collect samples and test pH, Total solids%, PCV%, concentration and density


• Accurately and legibly record samples and process data.


• Monitor assigned equipment and production areas to ensure cleanliness and normal operating conditions


• Perform equipment / tank cleaning (CIPs) as needed


• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• This position works 12-hour rotating shifts (36 / 48 hours per week alternating, rotating nights & days every 4 weeks), which includes days, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.


• This position works in a manufacturing environment, which includes exposures to moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions and temperatures, hazardous chemicals, high pressure steam, dust


• This position regularly requires the ability to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of shift, standing, walking extended distances, ascending/descending stairs extended distances, close/distance vision. Occasionally requires confined space entry, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, ascending/descending ladders, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma / GED


• Lab and/or production experience is preferred
