Job description

Threefold Community Farm Hiring Vegetable Farmer

About Threefold Farm

Our mission is to care for the land using biodynamics to grow food that nourishes the whole human being, foster a learning community where people develop a loving relationship to the land, and build an inclusive social life serving our home and surrounding communities. Threefold Community Farm, a collaboration between The Threefold and Fellowship Foundations, spans 220 acres in Chestnut Ridge, New York, near New York City. The farm integrates Biodynamic Land Care, Education, and Production, following Rudolf Steiner's principles.

The vegetable operation cultivates 5 acres of fields, using hand tools, tractors, and other equipment. The produce is sold at our farm stand, to the Fellowship Community, Hungry Hollow Co-Op, Threefold Cafe, and through a 50-member CSA program.

The Vegetable Farmer ensures the health and productivity of the vegetable operation. This full-time salaried position has varying hours by season and includes weekend chores. The work impacts the local community by providing high-quality produce, contributing to future farmers' education, and fostering a meaningful environment for the public to engage with agriculture and volunteer.

The Vegetable Farmer will maintain a hospitable and safe environment for staff, interns, guests, and volunteers. Innovation and improvement in farming practices are encouraged, with opportunities to refine the operation. The Vegetable Farmer reports to the Farm Director and works closely with the Farm Team.
