Job summary

Kroger is seeking an experienced subject matter expert in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) to mitigate threats and lead investigations across regions, applying keen critical thinking and strong judgment.

You will collaborate with HR, Legal, and business leaders; conduct sensitive interviews; document findings with case management software; develop BTAM training; and travel up to 50% to support diverse business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in security/threat management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to influence at all levels.
• Proven ability to testify in criminal proceedings and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk evaluation of workplace violence incidents with stakeholders.
• Guide division asset protection during critical incidents related to targeted violence.
• Assess incidents and provide mitigation recommendations for highly complex problems.
• Conduct sensitive interviews of victims, witnesses and persons of interest during investigations.
• Document investigative results using case management software across the incident lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain relationships with HR, Legal, leaders and external partners.
• Identify new opportunities and solutions to mitigate threats and address behaviors of concern.
• Develop and lead BTAM training for internal stakeholders.
• Travel up to 50% to support business units.

Serve as an experienced subject matter expert in the field of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM), with keen critical thinking skills and a demonstrated track record of successfully mitigating threats. Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide a safe and secure work environment across regions. Possess the ability to prioritize and conduct in depth investigations relative to assessing the threat of violence and mitigation of violence as it pertains to the workplace. • Manage the risk evaluation of workplace violence incidents and behaviors of concern, in partnership with other key stakeholders, for assigned business units
• Assist and provide guidance to division asset protection managers during critical incidents, specifically those related to the prevention and investigation of targeted violence
• Identify and assess workplace violence incidents and behaviors of concern, providing mitigation recommendations for highly complex problems
• Conduct sensitive interviews of victims, witnesses, and persons of interest during investigations, both virtually and in person
• Document investigative results in an articulate manner utilizing case management software to ensure accurate reporting, tracking and documentation of workplace violence incidents and behaviors of concern through the entire lifecycle of the incident
• Develop and maintain relationships with multi-disciplinary teams comprised of Human Resources, Legal, business leaders and external partners
• Strive to identify new opportunities and solutions that will aid in the mitigation of threats and identify and address behaviors of concern in the workplace
• Develop and leads BTAM training for a variety of internal stakeholder groups
• Travel up to 50% to support business units, often on short notice

Minimum

• Bachelor's Degree relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in security/ threat management
• Demonstrated sound judgement and independent decision-making skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills to influence at all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to testify in criminal proceedings and maintain confidentiality

Desired

• Any previous experience with structured professional judgement tools to assess threats
• Certified Threat Manager as accredited by the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals
