Referment is working with a global investment and technology firm seeking a Thought Leadership Associate for its external communications team. The team develops rigorous content on markets, economics and technology to support fundraising, recruitment and corporate positioning.

You’ll manage substantive content from initial idea through review and publication, working with investment researchers, technologists and colleagues across investor relations, media communications, and legal and compliance. The opportunity combines analytical research, editorial judgement and project delivery rather than focusing on copywriting alone.

The Role

• Manage the drafting and review of white papers, speaking materials, presentations and shorter-form content.
• Work with subject-matter experts in investment research and technology to turn complex ideas into clear, credible communications.
• Coordinate input and approvals across investor relations, media communications, and legal and compliance.
• Develop and deliver projects that improve how the team sources, produces and amplifies content.
• Build relationships across the business to uncover worthwhile topics and turn them into executable thought-leadership ideas.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree or higher and two to five years' experience in work combining research, analytical thinking, writing and project management.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the judgement to maintain exacting standards.
• The ability to analyse unfamiliar subjects rigorously, think critically and learn quickly.
• A collaborative style and confidence working with colleagues across disciplines and levels of seniority.
• A proactive approach to moving multi-stakeholder projects forward.

Academic or professional exposure to finance, economics, statistics or another quantitative subject is helpful, but not required. Evidence of learning agility and an ability to communicate complex material matters more than a narrowly defined background.

This could suit a research-led communications professional, financial or economic writer, editorial strategist, or analyst with excellent writing skills who wants to work across markets and technology subjects.
