Job summary

Referment, a global investment and technology firm, is seeking a Thought Leadership Associate for its external communications team in New York. You’ll manage content from idea through publication, working with researchers, technologists and colleagues across investor relations, media, and legal and compliance.

You’ll combine analytical research, editorial judgement and project delivery to create credible thought‑leadership materials that support fundraising, recruitment and corporate positioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; 2–5 years in work combining research, analytical thinking, writing and project management.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with exacting standards.
• Ability to analyze unfamiliar subjects rigorously, think critically and learn quickly.
• Collaborative style and confidence working with colleagues across disciplines and levels of seniority.

You’ll manage substantive content from initial idea through review and publication, working with investment researchers, technologists and colleagues across investor relations, media communications, and legal and compliance. The opportunity combines analytical research, editorial judgement and project delivery rather than focusing on copywriting alone.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree or higher and two to five years’ experience in work combining research, analytical thinking, writing and project management.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the judgement to maintain exacting standards.
• The ability to analyse unfamiliar subjects rigorously, think critically and learn quickly.
• A collaborative style and confidence working with colleagues across disciplines and levels of seniority.
• A proactive approach to moving multi‑stakeholder projects forward.

Academic or professional exposure to finance, economics, statistics or another quantitative subject is helpful, but not required. Evidence of learning agility and an ability to communicate complex material matters more than a narrowly defined background.

This could suit a research‑led communications professional, financial or economic writer, editorial strategist, or analyst with excellent writing skills who wants to work across markets and technology subjects.
