Overview

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Board Certified or Board Eligible General Thoracic Surgeon with expertise in lung and esophageal surgery, specifically in robotic-assisted techniques.

As a key member of our surgical team, you will deliver exceptional care to patients with thoracic conditions, including diseases of the lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, and chest wall. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, utilizing the latest surgical techniques and technologies. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with established multidisciplinary oncology teams and a lung cancer screening program.

Responsibilities
  • Perform thoracic surgical procedures focusing on lung and esophageal surgeries, using traditional and minimally invasive techniques
  • Robotic-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, demonstrating proficiency and precision
  • Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS)
  • Evaluate patients, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care
  • Educate patients about thoracic conditions and postoperative care
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay informed on advancements through CME, conferences, and training
  • Participate in clinical and educational activities, including teaching residents and students
Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery
  • Completion of an accredited Thoracic Surgery residency
  • Expertise in lung and esophageal surgery, including robotic-assisted techniques
  • Robotic surgery certification or significant experience
  • Active medical licensure and privileges
