Job summary

Albany Medical Center in New York is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Thoracic Surgery team, with inpatient care duties and multidisciplinary coordination. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-acuity surgical setting while also contributing to broader hospital-based medical care.

The PA will provide perioperative and ICU support, assist in thoracic procedures, conduct preoperative assessments, and participate in daily rounds with

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited PA program with NCCPA certification.
Active state PA license and prescriptive authority.
Minimum 2 years in a surgical or acute care setting, CT Surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for thoracic patients from preop to postop ICU.
Assist in thoracic procedures including VATS and open surgery.
Manage ICU patients with ventilation, hemodynamics and critical care needs.
Coordinate postoperative care and MDT discussions.
Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery.
