Job summary

Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Thoracic Surgeon to join our collaborative surgical team.

You will perform lobectomies, pneumonectomies, esophagectomies and other thoracic procedures using minimally invasive and robotic techniques, with a balanced inpatient/outpatient workload and a Monday–Friday clinic schedule.

Epic EMR and Ambience AI support documentation to improve patient flow, reduce burden, and enhance care quality.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery.
• Eligible for New Jersey medical licensure, including CDS and DEA.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical and surgical care.
• Experience in robotic and minimally invasive techniques highly preferred.
• New graduates and experienced surgeons are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide spectrum of thoracic procedures, including Lobectomy, pneumonectomy, wedge resection, Esophagectomy, achalasia surgery, and surgeries for thoracic outlet syndrome and lung infections.
• Utilize minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical platforms.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to optimize outcomes.
• Engage in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and educational efforts.
• Support documentation efficiency with Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to improve patient flow and coding accuracy.
