Job summary

The U.S. Army Medical Corps seeks a Thoracic Surgeon to join its health care team in Michigan, focusing on thoracic trauma, oncology and respiratory medicine. You will diagnose, treat and perform surgeries for patients with vascular needs while serving Soldiers and families.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from a US- accredited medical school; foreign grads may apply with ECFMG permanent certificate
  • Current US medical license (DC/PR allowed)

Responsibilities

  • Provide thoracic surgery for trauma, oncology, and respiratory patients
  • Diagnose and treat patients requiring vascular surgery and perform required procedures
  • Support humanitarian missions and leadership training as part of Army Medical Corps

Education

Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
Eligibility for board certification
Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
Completion of a training program in thoracic surgery
