Job summary

The Canning Thoracic Institute at Northwestern Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, seeks a full-time Thoracic Surgeon at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Responsibilities include providing comprehensive thoracic surgical care within a high-volume academic program, engaging in translational research, and collaborating on lung transplantation, minimally invasive and robotic surgery programs.

Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified in Thoracic Surgery.
• Eligibility for licensure in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive thoracic surgical care as part of a high-volume, multidisciplinary academic program.
• Engage in innovative clinical programs, translational research, and multidisciplinary care models.
• Collaborate on programs in lung transplantation, advanced thoracic oncology, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and lung failure/ECMO.
• Serve as a key member of a collaborative faculty group focused on clinical care, research, education, and innovation.
• Participate in Feinberg School of Medicine academic programs, including teaching and research.
