Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and TX medical licensure.
• Excellent clinical skills in thoracic surgery.
• Strong interpersonal skills and scholarly activity interest.

Responsibilities

• Participate in department and division clinical, research, and educational programs.
• Implement evidence-based, state-of-the-art protocols and quality metrics.
• Render professional care and services to patients per standard of care in thoracic surgery.
• Perform clinical activities at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and McNair campus.
• Obtain history and perform physical examinations; order and interpret procedures.
• Prescribe treatments and maintain records and orders.
• Provide follow-up care and communicate with patients and families.
• Collaborate with providers to identify patients for care management.
• Provide call coverage for BCM and affiliated hospitals.
• Grow the thoracic surgery division through clinical, research, and education efforts.
• Participation in transplantation is optional.
• Pursue ongoing CME.
