Job summary

A leading health system in West Reading is hiring a Thoracic Surgeon to join their Cardiothoracic Surgery Group. The ideal candidate will engage in all aspects of thoracic surgery, managing both benign and malignant esophageal surgery and working alongside advanced practitioners. Qualifications

  • Board certified in Thoracic Surgery, ABTS required.
  • Previous experience preferred but new fellow considered.

Job Summary

Located in West Reading, PA, Reading Hospital is the flagship, Magnet Recognized, acute care hospital of Tower Health and a recipient of Healthgrades® America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award. This highly qualified candidate will be supported by a team of advanced practitioners with cutting-edge training and skills, who provide 24/7 coverage.

The candidate is involved in all aspects of thoracic surgery, and support of the Oncology and Gastrointestinal services. Candidates should have good facility with minimally invasive and open lung resections, including robotics. The candidate should also have capabilities to manage benign and malignant esophageal surgery, mediastinal disease and diaphragmatic reconstruction. Teaching opportunities exist with medical students and residents.

Tower Health has partnered with Drexel University College of Medicine to open a new medical school one-half mile walking distance from Reading Hospital, a regional medical campus for Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health.
