Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks a skilled thoracic surgeon to join a busy Central Illinois team. The surgeon will participate in complex cases including tracheal resections, VATS lobectomies, esophagectomies and pneumonectomies, within a highly integrated cardiovascular and cancer program.

Peoria’s Saint Francis Medical Center offers a rich referral base and access to proton therapy and translational research. The role is based in Peoria, IL, with a comprehensive benefits package and substantial earning

Qualifications

• Education: Doctorate in medicine (MD/DO).
• Licenses: Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
• Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide thoracic surgical care including tracheal resections and esophagectomies.
• Perform VATS lobectomies, pneumonectomies, and thoracoscopies.
• Collaborate in an integrated multidisciplinary thoracic oncology program.

Overview

• OSF Healthcare is adding a third thoracic surgeon to their busy and growing team in Central Illinois
• Cases include Tracheal resections, VATS lobectomies, Esophagectomies Pneumonectomies, as well as multiple thoracoscopies, rigid bronchoscopies.
• OSF HealthCare consists of 17 hospitals and medical centers, one long-term facility and two colleges of nursing.
• OSF’s Cardiovascular Institute consists of 3 CV Surgeons, 4 cardiothoracic surgery physician assistants, and over 55 Cardiologists.
• Highly integrated clinical and interventional pulmonology program including expanding multi-site ION robotic bronchoscopy program.
• Walk into a progressive practice that will be busy from day one with a primary care referral base of 300+ providers.
• OSF Saint Francis Medical Center located in Peoria, IL is a 625-bed facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and home to the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The Medical Center acts as a regional tertiary and quaternary referral center.
• OSF’s onsite Cancer Institute is becoming a destination for world-class cancer care.
• Collaborate with state of the art medical and radiation oncology in a highly integrated multi-specialty thoracic oncology program including proton therapy

• Full time, clinical base salary pay range for this position: $600,000-675,000

• Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state. Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies). Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs. Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
