About this role

As a network recovery surgeon, you will join a growing group of practicing cardiothoracic surgeons across the country who use their training and skill to provide local/regional on-demand heart and lung recovery services for organ procurement organizations and transplant programs nationwide. Your schedule and availability are entirely self-determined and should not conflict with your clinical practice. There is no pressure to accept any case, and there is no minimum service obligation. Compensation is highly competitive and significantly higher than national cardiothoracic locum rates.

• Education of residents/fellows in thoracic organ recovery in their roles as paid assistants (optional)
• Participation in ProCure process improvement and quality assurance initiatives pertaining to cases performed

Qualifications

• Active ACIN credentials for heart and lung recovery
• Facility and comfort with independent organ recovery from brain-dead donors, at a minimum, though experience with donation after cardiac death (DCD) is in high demand
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills; ability to work calmly under pressure; consummate professionalism in every aspect
