About the Role

In this role, you will engage and connect with our customers by providing excellent customer service. You will be an expert in product knowledge and use this expertise to educate, inform, inspire, and outfit the customer. You will offer information on current merchandise, store promotions, and events, and execute operational processes effectively and efficiently. Your goal is to bring our brand to life for our customers, build brand loyalty, and deliver productivity.

What You'll Do
  1. All associates are expected to become experts in the brand's selling behaviors, leveraging these behaviors with every customer to provide a premium experience.
  2. Serve as a role model to achieve store priorities, with the customer as the primary focus.
  3. Support the store leadership team to collaborate effectively with employees and ensure work tasks are completed promptly and efficiently.
  4. Build and share expertise in an assigned specialized functional area.
  5. Support completion of work processes before or after store hours as needed, including opening and/or closing the store.
  6. Listen and ask questions to solicit feedback, understand needs, and provide appropriate service.
  7. Handle unique or complex customer interactions professionally.
Who You Are
  • Have successfully completed job readiness training at one of Gap Inc’s nonprofit partners.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to utilize technology effectively and engage with customers and team members to meet goals.
  • A problem solver focused on continuous improvement, always learning, open to feedback, and taking necessary action.
  • Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
  • Capable of learning procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
