SCOPE:

The Third-Party PD Adjuster is responsible for investigating claims to identify recovery opportunities, pursuing reimbursement from liable third parties and their insurers, and negotiating settlements to maximize financial recovery for the company. The adjuster will collaborate closely with internal teams, such as claims, underwriting, and legal, to ensure a thorough and effective recovery process. Additionally, the adjuster will maintain compliance with industry regulations, track performance metrics, and contribute to the continuous improvement of subrogation practices. This position requires strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with a focus on achieving optimal recovery outcomes in a timely manner.
This position is also offered in a remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.


DUTIES:
  • Review and analyze claims to determine liability and assess subrogation demands from adverse carriers. Evaluate damages to rule out excess.
  • Investigate incidents by reviewing accident reports, gathering evidence, obtaining police reports, and assessing repair estimates to validate claims.
  • Negotiate settlements with adverse adjusters, third-party insurers, and attorneys, leveraging knowledge of liability laws and negotiation strategies to maximize recovery.
  • Maintain detailed records of all subrogation activities, including communications, negotiation efforts, and settlements. Ensure accurate documentation in internal systems.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including insurers, attorneys, and claimants, to facilitate claim resolution and recovery efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies in all subrogation activities. Stay updated on industry trends and legislative changes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as claims adjusters, underwriters, and legal departments to develop recovery strategies and support efficient subrogation processes.
  • Monitor litigation potential in unresolved cases and coordinate with legal teams and insured parties when necessary.
  • Meet or exceed settlement goals by proactively handling subrogation claims and engaging in continuous professional development to enhance effectiveness.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred. Experience is lieu of degree also considered.
  • Adjusters license required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
