Overview

We've had huge growth in our Welding Department in 2025!!! Looking to add several to our 2nd shift (limited 1st shift availability)

We’re looking for MANUAL TUBE WELDERS that exhibit a strong work ethic, dependability, and believe in our company values. A typical day for a tube welder involves welding components onto tubes for a variety of air filtration, exhaust, and other metal tubes used in various industries. We're a job shop, and you'll be working on a variety of parts each day.

Shifts:

  1. 1st shift - Monday-Thursday 6:30am-4:30pm (OT on Fridays, expect to work Fridays)
  2. 2nd shift - Monday-Thursday 4:20pm-2:50am (OT on Fridays, expect to work Fridays)

Responsibilities

What it takes to be a MANUAL WELDER with MEC:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one-year related experience and/or training is preferred.
  2. Ability to train, communicate, and work with others.
  3. Ability to do basic math.
  4. Be able to lift and move 50 pounds.
  5. AWS certified or the ability to become AWS certified.
  6. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  7. Displays ethical behavior and acts with integrity.
  8. Reliability.

What you will be doing as a MANUAL WELDER:

  1. Using provided setup sheet, operators verify correct filler metal is installed, changing filler as needed.
  2. Adjust weld gas flow per given WPS instructions.
  3. Set up manual weld machine or download program per setup sheet instructions.
  4. Verify proper tooling is installed in the robot or staged in the manual area.
  5. Review weld requirements from weld prints (size, spacing, location, etc.).
  6. Load and locate parts into tooling per print and work instructions.
  7. Weld parts per customer provided prints.
  8. Remove weld spatter and scale from finished parts.
  9. May be required to remove material by grinding (metal finishing) using power tools and manually to meet customer specifications.
  10. Perform quality checks per setup sheet.
  11. Maintain welding equipment and ensure that the work area is orderly and clean.
  12. Setup and operate robotic weld cells.
  13. Required to rework parts up to customer specifications.
