Job summary

Headway Technologies in Milpitas, California, seeks a Thin Film Manufacturing Engineer to monitor and optimize day-to-day thin film processes. You will analyze deposition and etch steps, design experiments to verify process robustness, and drive improvements in yield and efficiency.

Requires a Master’s degree plus 3 years in magnetic thin film fabrication or semiconductor processing, SPC/DOE experience, and strong data skills. Full-time role with bonus target and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics, or equivalent.
  • Three years of hands-on magnetic thin film fabrication or semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with SPC and DOE; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, sustains, and supports day-to-day thin film manufacturing processes.
  • Improves deposition and/or dry etching efficiency by data analysis and experimentation.
  • Designs experiments to verify process robustness with latitudes characterization.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions.
  • Uses SPC to analyze quality data and presents findings to teams.
  • Ensures safety policies and procedures are followed.
