Job summary

Pretium Packaging in Aurora, IL seeks a Production Operator to set up and operate multiple production machines, verify set points, and ensure safe, efficient lines. You will monitor quality in real time, document issues, and support training while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Starting pay is $18/hr with shift differential pay. You will assist with preventive maintenance, record data, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced plastics environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with plastic molding machines preferred.
• Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Comfort in fast-paced environments and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple production machines; verify set points.
• Operate various machines: extrusion blow mold, extrusion machine, injection blow mold, injection mold, label, pad printer, silk-screen.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance; monitor purging.
• Confirm materials by part numbers and document problems and solutions.
• Record production and quality data and close out production runs.
• Assist with training Technician Operators and provide relief for breaks.
• Notify supervisor for repairs and participate in special projects.

Job description

A day in the life at Pretium Packaging. When your shift begins, you’ll bring production lines to life—starting up equipment, confirming set points, and ensuring every station is safe and ready. You’ll move between extrusion blow molders, injection blow molders, injection molders, an extrusion machine, labeling systems, a pad printer, and silk-screen equipment—keeping everything running smoothly. You’ll verify the correct sleeves, boxes, labels, and materials by part number, maintain M.O. Weight and Process Check Sheets, and monitor quality in real time. If the line needs attention, you’ll make the right machine adjustments, clean filters, purge when required, and notify your supervisor when maintenance is needed—then restart equipment after service is complete. Along the way, you’ll record production and quality metrics (manual/data collector), document problems, causes, and solutions, close out the production run, and keep the area spotless by following all safety and housekeeping practices. “Responsible for food safety, food quality and site safety.” You’ll also help train Technician Operators, provide relief for breaks and lunches, and contribute to special projects as needed.
