Job summary

Pretium Packaging in Aurora, IL is seeking an Extrusion & Injection Blow Molding Operator to run lines, verify set points, and maintain quality records. You will operate extrusion blow molding and injection molding equipment, assist with labeling and printing, and uphold safety standards.

This full-time, direct-hire role offers starting pay of $18/hr with shift differential, plus comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with plastic molding machinery preferred (blow molding, injection, extrusion).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Start up production machines and verify all set points are correct.
• Monitor machine performance; perform minor maintenance, clean filters, and purge as needed.
• Verify correct sleeves, boxes, labels, and materials by part number for every run.
• Maintain M.O. Weight and Process Check Sheets; record production and quality data (manual/data collector) and properly close out runs.
• Conduct in-process quality checks; ensure parts meet specifications and adjust equipment accordingly.
• Troubleshoot line issues; document problems, root causes, and resolutions.
• Notify supervision when repairs are needed; restart machines after maintenance.
• Keep the area orderly; uphold all safety and housekeeping standards.
• Assist with training Technician Operators; provide relief for breaks and lunches.
• Support related duties and special projects as assigned.

A Day in the Life

You arrive for your shift, review the production schedule, and prepare your line. You bring machines online, confirm set points, and stage the correct sleeves, boxes, labels, and materials using part numbers. As production ramps up, you watch the process, clean filters, make minor adjustments, and keep accurate weight and process check sheets. Throughout the run, you pull samples, compare them to specs, and fine-tune settings to maintain quality. When an issue appears, you troubleshoot methodically, document the cause and fix, alert maintenance when needed, and restart the line once service is complete.

Across the floor, you may work with different equipment—switching between blow molding and injection molding, or supporting labeling and printing—always keeping safety, housekeeping, and teamwork front and center. You help cross-train teammates, provide break and lunch coverage, and close out production runs with complete records.

Equipment You’ll Operate

• Comfort in a fast-paced, production environment.
• Solid problem-solving ability and clear written/verbal communication.
