Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Thermoforming Automation Maintenance Journeyman or Automation Maintenance Apprentice in Evansville, Indiana to inspect and repair thermoforming automation equipment and perform preventive maintenance. You will work with pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical and mechanical systems, participate in an apprenticeship, and ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vision adequate (20/40) with color vision testing.
• Ability to lift 45 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work in heat/cold extremes.
• read 10–12 point font at 12–18 inches.
• Able to work independently or with others.
• Strong mechanical systems knowledge.
• Commitment to apprenticeship participation.
• Ability to work at heights with fall protection.
• Verbal communication to operate radio/paging.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical and mechanical systems on thermoforming automation equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance per QSI system.
• Complete work assigned by Group Leader or Asst. Group Leader.
• Communicate activities with Group Leader and others in the dept.
• Maintain neat and orderly shop and equipment.
• Obtain parts in emergencies.
• Assist in other departments as requested.
• Seek training to stay current with job requirements.
• Assume control of machine when safety concerns arise.
