Mercury Marine, based in Fond du Lac, WI, seeks a Dyno Test Engineer to support engine dynamometer testing and development for propulsion systems. The role ensures performance, emissions compliance, fuel economy, and product quality across new and existing engines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dyno testing to optimize base engine hardware and calibrations.
• Rig engines in dyno cell and install instrumentation
• Engine maintenance for test engines (oil changes, checks).
• Install or remove engine parts as required.
• Troubleshoot engine and dyno cell issues (electrical/mechanical).
• Fabricate fixtures and route lines for tests.
• Keep dyno cell and console organized and safe.
• Collaborate effectively with team and prioritize safety.

Position Overview

As part of the PD&E team, you will play a key role in Mercury Marine's product development process. This position is responsible for supporting the execution of engine dynamometer testing and development activities that drive performance, emissions compliance, fuel economy, and overall product quality for new and existing propulsion systems.

Essential Functions

• Insert Essential Functions (defined as: Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. They are the fundamental activities that the position exists to perform.)
• Conduct dyno testing to develop optimized base engine hardware and calibrations for power, emissions, fuel economy, and combustion stability
• Rig engines in dyno cell, install and/or connect instrumentation
• Perform engine maintenance for engines on test (oil change, valve lash, spark plugs, oil samples)
• Install/remove engine parts as required (cylinder heads, cams, exhaust, sensors, etc)
• Troubleshoot engine and dyno cell issues, electrical and mechanical
• Fabricate fixtures, test parts, route lines as required by test
• Organize and clean dyno cell and dyno console as needed
• Be an effective team member and commitment to safety

The anticipated pay range for this position is 54,300 - 75,400, annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
