Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Madison, PA is seeking a Steam Generator Thermal-Hydraulic Engineer to perform thermal-hydraulic analyses of steam generators for the nuclear fleet and support new designs.

You will report to the Manager, Component Design and Management Programs and work in a hybrid capacity at our Madison, PA location. The role includes performing calculations, analyses, and providing technical support for upgrades and modifications.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 1+ years of heat transfer and fluid mechanics experience.
• Experience with CFD analyses or related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform modeling and analysis of steam generators using proprietary Westinghouse thermal-hydraulic codes.
• Perform engineering calculations to support steam generator designs including CFD analyses or other similar software tools.
• Meet project commitments, schedules, and project budgets. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns.
• Present technical information to technical leads, internal groups and project managers associated with assigned work scope.

About The Role

As a Steam Generator Thermal-Hydraulic Engineer, you will perform thermal-hydraulic engineering analysis for existing steam generators within the operating nuclear fleet and support new steam generator designs. You will provide general thermal-hydraulic engineering assistance within component engineering for major components, such as the steam generator and pressurizer, to support the operating nuclear fleet, including upgrades, repairs, and modifications.

You will report to the Manager, Component Design and Management Programs and be located at our Madison, PA location and can work in a hybrid capacity.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. We estimate the base salary range for this position, which depends on qualifications, to be 58,400 to 73,000 per year.
