Qualifications

Job description

  • 401k match, Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans for employees and families.
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • 2:15 pm – 10:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.
  • Salary for this position starts at $23.10. Rate will be commensurate with experience.

Summary: The Thermal Spray Technician is responsible for performing HVOF, plasma, and/or other thermal spray coating operations per customer requirements and job folder specifications.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.

  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Review job folder to verify area of part to be masked, cleaned, and/or blasted and coated. Confirm all pre-coating requirements have been completed according to the job folder specification.
  • Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in the job folder.
  • Report all coating problems, inaccuracies in the job folder, damaged parts, and/or tooling and fixtures to the Thermal Spray Lead.
  • Make appropriate use of coating materials, equipment, and documentation.
  • Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets customer and technical plan requirements.
  • Completion of assigned spray operation in a timely, accurate manner per work instructions.
  • Accurate documentation of required data within the job folder.
  • Attention to detail with a focused goal of zero rework.
  • Maintaining high-quality output.
  • Excellent record of attendance with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Assisting the supervisor in developing processes that will improve operations.
  • 100% on-time delivery of assigned projects.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with supervisor, plant leadership, and co-workers.
  • Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy requirements:
  • Keeping the work area neat and orderly at all times.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Wear appropriate respiratory gear when in the thermal spray booth.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
  • Education – High School diploma and a technical certification or two year degree in a technical field.
  • Working experience in a production environment that demonstrates the capability to learn thermal spray processes.
  • Ability to perform mechanical measurements (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Organized, detailed, and accurate.
  • Good communication skills with co-workers and management.
  • Documentation skills with basic MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Previous Plasma, thermal spray, and/or HVOF spray experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with large multi-axis robotics and associated programming tools preferred.
  • Advanced documentation and computer skills are preferred.
  • Thermal spray process experience preferred.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Must be able to work in a sitting and standing position for extended periods in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
  • Up to 50lbs lifted 20-80 times a day.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
