Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne is seeking a Propulsion Thermal Analyst to ensure the thermal reliability of Raptor components from liftoff to landing. This role emphasizes physics, thermodynamics, advanced computing, and solving complex high‑performance hardware challenges.

You will drive analysis, design, testing, and development of hardware for the world’s most advanced rocket engine powering Starship, collaborating with design, production, and reliability teams to meet engine and vehicle objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics required.
• 1+ year of thermal analysis experience or internship.
• Hands-on experience with FEA software and post-processing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, document, and present thermal analyses on Raptor hardware.
• Own thermal design from concept to validation with tests and data.
• Collaborate across disciplines to meet engine objectives.
• Validate models with test data and ensure reliability.
• Support design, manufacturing, and reliability improvements.
