Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Structural Analyst for the Raptor Combustion Devices to ensure structural reliability under extreme conditions from liftoff to landing. You will perform static, thermal, dynamic analyses via FEA and first principles to inform design and qualification of hardware for the Starship propulsion system.

Collaborate across design, production, test, and reliability teams; validate models against test data; contribute to ongoing design improvements and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or physics.
• 1+ years of structural analysis experience (academic or professional).
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software and post-processing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct static, thermal, thermo-mechanical, dynamic, and durability analyses on Raptor hardware via FEA to inform design and reliability.
• Collaborate with design, production, development test, and reliability teams to meet engine objectives.
• Validate models against test data and ensure alignment with design criteria.
• Support design, manufacturing, and reliability improvements and qualified changes.
