Job description

Talascend is currently seeking a Thermal Hydraulic Test Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Bellevue, WA.

Overview:

The Thermal Hydraulic Test Engineer will be responsible for reviewing test requirements, designing tests, executing tests, and writing reports. The engineer will work closely with internal and external customers to ensure testing meets requirements and is conducted in a timely manner. The role involves collaboration with a team of engineers and technicians to complete testing activities.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in drafting test requirements.
  • Author test design documents, procedures, reports, and supporting documents.
  • Assist with data analysis and generate test reports.
  • Support testing activities for setup and commissioning of experimental equipment under the guidance of Senior Test Engineers.
  • Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain high-quality engineering design and identify process improvements.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Over three years of relevant experience in testing or R&D environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience with post-processing and documenting experiments.
  • Experience with various types of testing (R&D, Acceptance, Validation, Qualification).
  • Molten metallic sodium experience – preferred.
  • Molten salt experience – preferred.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple objectives and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • Ability to independently solve complex R&D problems.
  • High integrity, trustworthiness, and teamwork orientation.
