Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking talented engineers for a 12-week internship focused on thermal engineering for satellite buses.

You’ll work with the broader engineering team, own project tasks, and gain hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing while being mentored and exposed to industry events. During the program, you’ll learn how thermal analysis is performed on buses and payloads, participate in TVAC testing, and assist with assembly and inspections of flight hardware.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Graduating Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong interest in aerospace and satellites.

For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles.

About the Role

We are seeking talented engineers to work closely with the broader engineering team for an exciting internship opportunity. This person is passionate about engineering, ready to take ownership over complex challenges, and a strong desire to learn about all things satellites.

During the 12-week internship program at Apex, you’ll gain hands‑on experience and professional growth opportunities. You’ll be assigned a project to give you the opportunity to have real impact. Throughout the project you'll have a dedicated mentor to guide you, while participating in learning sessions to elevate your knowledge of aerospace. Plus, you'll connect with peers and industry professionals during our community events, making this a well‑rounded experience to launch your career!

Thermal Engineering: Interns will be an integral part of the team learning how thermal analysis is done on buses and payloads. They will get involved with hands‑on testing that creates relevant outputs to make analysis more accurate, and get real experience with assembly and inspections of the flight buses and payloads. Thermal interns will also get the chance to be involved in some of the most exciting parts of spacecraft production, TVAC functional testing and launch support!
Requirements:

• Graduating in the Fall of 2027 or in the Spring of 2028

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  Note: Spring interns should be available to pause or adjust academic commitments (such as taking a semester off or enrolling part‑time) for the duration of the program
