Job summary

AGS is seeking a Principal Thermal Engineer to own the thermal architecture, design, analysis, testing, and flight execution of thermal control systems. This leadership role blends substantial individual technical work with building and guiding the thermal engineering team.

You will lead architecture decisions, design active and passive cooling, and mentor engineers while delivering flight-ready hardware. Expect hands-on problem solving and collaboration across disciplines to ensure mission

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on thermal engineering experience across design, analysis, hardware development and testing.
• Experience with Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, or equivalent tools for thermal modeling.
• Experience with active thermal control in demanding environments such as space, aerospace, automotive, data centers, power, industrial, or petroleum.
• Strong understanding of pumped fluid loops, liquid cooling, cold plates, heat exchangers, radiators, or other high-power thermal systems.
• Experience taking complex hardware from architecture and design through qualification and production or flight.
• Comfortable leading engineers while remaining deeply hands-on technically.

• Build and correlate thermal models for spacecraft, payloads, and subsystems against ground-test and flight data.
• Take thermal hardware from concept through manufacturing, integration, testing, qualification, and flight.
• Build and lead the thermal engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, technical reviews, and verification standards.
