Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Thermal Development Technician (Starship) for a temporary 3-month assignment at Starbase, TX. The role focuses on preparing ceramic materials and fabricating components for the thermal protection system, with precise documentation of each step.

The candidate should read technical drawings, operate or assist in ovens/kilns, and support maintenance of production machinery. Experience with robotics, PLCs, and office tools is beneficial for daily tasks.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Experience with various types of hand tools or hand-held power tools.
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret symbols and notes.
Comfort working with ceramic materials and precursors.

Responsibilities

Preprocess and manufacture ceramic fibers, filaments, and powders required for the fabrication of next-tier products.
Fabricate ceramic refractory billets, ceramic tiles, thermal gap fillers, coatings, and other components for thermal protection systems.
Basic fabrication, surface preparation for processing, bonding, and oven curing.
Document processes precisely to replicate each processing step.
Read and interpret engineering drawings with an understanding of symbols and notes.
Assist in maintenance and repair of production machinery.
