Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Thermal Engineer to own the thermal design of spacecraft, launch vehicles, and components from concept through CAD/build and validation. You will drive TPS sizing, heater and coolant-loop design, and contribute to on-orbit performance improvements.

Responsibilities include translating analysis into design decisions, automating workflows, and delivering robust, high-performing hardware while meeting aggressive schedules. ITAR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience with Python, MATLAB and EES.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through design, build and test.
• Familiar with Thermal Desktop and ANSYS Workbench.
• Ability to identify analysis cases and evaluate design impact quickly.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end thermal design for spacecraft, launch-vehicle and components.
• Translate analysis into materials, coatings, insulation and interfaces.
• Automate workflows to reduce engineering time.
• Improve hardware performance and robustness while simplifying operations.
• Produce quality documentation and review peer work.
